“Stepbrothers” by asyndetique

PLOT: Wherein Hunith remarries, Merlin gets a new stepbrother, Arthur makes nightly visits to Merlin’s room to rearrange the furniture and Uther goes partially vegan on weekends.

Arthur isn’t exactly what Merlin is expecting when his mum tells him he’s going to have a big brother on top of getting a new dad (who Merlin is maybe afraid of for the most part, but his mum seems to love the guy so Merlin is sure he’s got some good qualities too, like being partially Vegan on weekends for Merlin and his mum’s benefit. That’s a positive trait isn’t it? Marriage means sacrifice and clearly, Uther loved Merlin’s mum enough to go partially Vegan for her, even just on weekends) because he’s not exactly big brother material. He’s an arrogant prat with daddy issues whose sole hobby besides playing football and being a prat is bullying people (Merlin).
